ACAF February Grants Support Students, Library Programs, and Leadership Allegany

Eight local organizations receive ACAF funding for educational programs, youth initiatives, and community enrichment.
Canaseraga, Cuba, and Whitesville libraries, CA BOCES, Cuba-Rushford Elementary School, Leadership Allegany, Wellsville Central School, and Wellsville Youth Cheer were awarded grants at the Allegany County Area Foundation’s (ACAF) February meeting.
All grants were made through ACAF’s Allegany Fund unless otherwise noted.
CA BOCES Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society: $325 for student induction into the national NTHS program.
Cuba Circulating Library: $2,000 to bring the Shake on the Lake theater program to Cuba this August (Joseph Bucher Fund). ACAF has been a frequent sponsor of SOTL in Allegany County.
Whitesville Public Library: $720 for a Spanish instruction program (Joseph Bucher Fund).
Wellsville Central School: $600 to purchase supplies for its student needs closet.
Canaseraga Essential Club Free Library: $825 for its summer reading program (Joseph Bucher Fund).
Wellsville Youth Cheer: ACAF committed to a $2,000 grant toward a storage building when WYC is approaching its overall fundraising goal for this project.
Cuba-Rushford Elementary School: $2,000 for inclusive musical playground equipment.
Leadership Allegany: $650 for a scholarship for the 2026 leadership training program (Peter Sprague Fund and Allegany Fund).
The Allegany County Area Foundation grant committee convenes every two months. The next 2026 meetings are in April and June. Grant applications for April should be received by Friday, April 17.
