ACAF Contributes to Almond Park Project

ACAF • January 17, 2019

The Allegany County Area Foundation has awarded $1000 to Alfred-Almond Community Sports Associates for the construction of the Greg Norton Memorial Park in the village of Almond.

The park project includes basketball and multi-purpose courts, a well-equipped playground area, seating, security features, and a pavilion. “At present” notes AACSA committee member Dan Hegarty, “there is no playground within the Almond Village. This will provide children with a safe place to play.” AACSA, which will look after and maintain the park, has managed local youth sports leagues for many years.

With assets of $9.5M, ACAF manages several dozen scholarship and grant funds. If you would like to know how you can establish a fund to support students or your community, contact the foundation’s executive director, Bruce Campbell at 585-296-5616.
